Source: I really find the whole Jets To Brazil thing really interesting. its kind of a band project that came out of the blue and didn’t have much like it out in the music scape at the time. while at the time it seemed to be hit or miss for a lot of people, but i think the albums aged really well. listening them today, 15 years later they almost seem more relevant sounding now than they did back then. i know people would give their left nut for a Jawbreaker reunion but i would be a guy who would fly someplace to see these guy play again for real. not like a one off show, but a real “lets do this band again” situation.

You Blew It!’s newest release is their first on Jade Tree Records which is an impressive addition to a label that recently celebrated its 25thanniversary. Pioneer Of Nothing is the follow up to their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Keep Doing What You’re Doing, and their third release within a year. This follows a cycle of touring with bands like Say Anything and Citizen. They’ll even be going out on a headlining tour of their own at the end of the month.
The Orlando natives have traded their raw sound found in all of their previous releases for clean production which takes the band to the next level and shows how they have continued to mature. The three song EP starts with “Lanai”, a smooth, driving song with layered elements that grow as the song progresses. The expressive vocals and well-shaped melodies fit beautifully with the instruments and make the song unique. What follows is “Bedside Manor”, a slower song that begins with quiet guitars before getting louder with building cymbals and an engaging drum beat. Before the song graduallydies down , it bursts into a sing along chorus with “oh’s” that make the song something you can easily sing along to and expect to hear live.
The delicate, drawn-out “Your Side” shows the band’s vulnerability. Vocalist Tanner Jones’ warm voice sings “I am by your side tonight, no matter how many times you’re convinced otherwise”. The song is both relatable and comforting with its relaxing sound and purposeful lyrics.
The band has released three solid songs that only leave me wishing I could hear more.

Spraynard have signed to Jade Tree Records. The label, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, recently began releasing music again, with the debut LP from Philadelphia’s Dark Blue and a new EP from Florida’s You Blew It!
Jade Tree will release a Spraynard full-length and 7-inch single this spring/summer. This album will be the first new, full release from the band since their reunion.
Spraynard were one of the first bands I wanted to talk to when I started at Jade Tree back in June. Their reunion and Jade Tree’s new drive coupled with Delaware origins made it feel like a perfect fit, and it ended up being one. I remember meeting with the band this summer and being nervous that I “would not be punk enough,” but one of them ended up seeing my blink-182 tattoo, so we spent the entire “meeting” talking about them and Sum 41.
They’ll be releasing a great new album this spring/summer.
