Today, we announce the signing of Philadelphia punk outfit, Socialite. We will be releasing a 7", titled I See You/I Don't Care on July 24th, with a full-length to be expected in the near future.
Leather jackets, boots, chains, baseball bats, and glue all fall under what Socialite frontman Jeff Fonseca considers “punk nonsense," but while he has no problem pointing the finger, he is usually just as guilty of the same historical worship that creates the illusion of punk today.
Socialite are a self aware band that are not trying to reinvent the wheel, but rather celebrate it while confronting what is and isn’t real. The superficial ideology is explored on their debut 7”, I See You/I Don’t Care, which clocking in at under 8 minutes spread across 5 tracks, is a raw glimpse at pure expression, a blown out production filled with loud guitars, pounding drums, and exhausting vocals.
With no business plan or agenda of taking over the world, the Philadelphia four piece have played only a handful of shows and will be putting out an LP on Jade Tree in the near future. Just like their self-titled track, Socialite are gonna “play the game, stay cool”.
